This is a Direct Hire Authority DHA solicitation utilizing the DHA for this is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This position is being advertised through the Direct Hire Authority for domestic defense Industrial Base Facilities and is open to all U.S Citizens to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in competitive service. Responsibilities With minimal supervision troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems on cranes and hoists. Dismantles, moves, repairs/overhauls/modifies, tests, and installs mechanical/pneumatic, and hydraulic parts. Accomplishes periodic and annual Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) of all electric bridge cranes 1-200 tons, and electric hoists 1 to 3 tons. Performs duties on components, such as power supplies, relays, AC and DC motors, converters, transformers, voltage regulators, circuit breakers, photocells, proximity sensors, printed circuit boards (PCB), PCB modules, signal cables ect. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): To qualify, your resume must reflect experience which shows your ability to do the work of Industrial Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Which includes the ability to: Perform preventative maintenance overhead bridge cranes; Performs maintenance using various hand and/or power tools; Interpreting blueprints, technical manuals and/or publications to perform repairs. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
