The Human Resources Assistant (HR) is a confidential position requiringthe utmost discretion, sensitivity, and professionalism at all times.The ability to represent the Department as a supportive and dependableresource while multi-tasking a wide array of duties and maintainingflexibility in an ever-changing set of priorities is essential. Whilethe HR Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the smoothoperation of the HR Department, equally important is their contributionto providing a welcoming and positive experience for all guests andemployees of the Revere Public Schools. In addition to HR specificduties, the HR Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent?sadministrative team providing support, collaborating with, and sharingin the responsibility and pride of providing exemplary service to all.QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Excellentcommunicator; proficient in both verbal and written English language.General knowledge of Office Operations. Demonstrated discretion andconfidentiality. Highly organized, detail oriented, independent,consistent initiative and follow through. Ability to multi-task withoutsacrificing accuracy, especially in entering high volumes of data.Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, innate respectfor others and openness to all points of view. Superior Customer Serviceinstincts, fielding phone, email and in person inquiries. Ability tobecome familiar with and apply all RPS Policies & Procedures andmultiple collective bargaining contract provisions. Proficiency inMicrosoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel Databasemanagement experience with demonstrated proficiency and accuracy Have awillingness to learn new and different administrative tasks, softwareand approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Preferredcandidates will Be Bilingual, preferably with verbal and writtenproficiency in one or more languages representing our community,currently Spanish/Portuguese/Arabic. Hold an Associate?s Degree orhigher. Have 1-2 Years? Experience working in an HR capacity ordepartment with general knowledge of HR Operations (preferably in amunicipality.) Have experience with Adobe Acrobat, creation of fillablepdf?s etc. Have website content management experience. Be familiar withthe privacy mandates of HIPAA. Be a creative problem solver. Enjoyworking with the public. SCHEDULE & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT This isan employment-at-will position, not subject to collective bargaining.Current schedule is 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year, generally7:30 ? 4:00 p.m. daily, including ? hour unpaid lunch. Schedules mayvary from time to time including occasional evening hours to support HRevents.
