  Job Description

  Today, as clients across industries are moving from digitally extending their businesses to placing digital at the core, Publicis Sapient has an unprecedented opportunity to help them succeed.

  Reporting into the EVP, Global Head of Engineering, you will lead engineering and delivery of enterprise scale digital transformation technology programs across industry clients, driving disruption from within. You will be responsible for framing geographically distributed technology groups internally and the technical management of on-site project teams. You will also guide architecture, technical design & development while providing best practice points of view within their area of expertise and also be an authority for the latest engineering methods and processes.

  The GVP of Engineering will also lead business development and proposal work, developing client relationships at all levels and deliver compelling presentations to C-level internal and client stakeholders. You will provide leadership and technical direction for multidisciplinary, international teams of 1000+ people and play a key role in driving Publicis Sapient core organizational beliefs. You will also be required to act as an Engineering Advisor for our partners/clients interfacing at the C-Suite level / Head of Departments in shaping their engineering roadmaps and technology stack evaluations.

  The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technologist and have a blend of experience across delivery, business development and the practical application of contemporary technologies.

  Responsibilities:

  Single threaded ownership of all the engineering outcomes globally and create strategy that is required

  Partner with the Business Leadership for go to market strategy and appropriate accelerators within the industry

  Help the business grow and take PS offerings to our partners/clients

  Work with Fortune 500 clients to solve their business problems using digital solutions

  Play an effective role in developing peoples craft and helping them hone their skills and apply them in the context of the project

  Accountable for mentoring and growing high performance teams in engineering

  Driven about making a difference using the latest technologies to create 10X value

  Passionate about engineering transformation both internally and with the client organization

  Take accountability for engineering delivery (estimates & execution), solution choice, quality and consistency (within the industry and aligned to global engineering capability)

  Responsible for building out engineering capacity required for revenue and partner with Engineering office and other functions

  Ability to provide direction to various engineering leads in their portfolio

  Accountable for delivering outcomes with the right efficiency and effort.

  Frequent travel required

  Qualifications

  Hands on technical delivery and leadership of globally distributed development teams 500+ in size

  Good understanding of the Retail industry in NA & EU

  Experience with build and roll out of at least one internet scale Retail system like e-commerce, customer data platforms, supply chain and ordering systems etc.

  Excellent Consultative & Presentation skills

  Hands on experience in architecting complex systems.

  Proficient in applied design with latest tech stacks.

  Expert hands-on coding skills with one or more of – Java, Javascript, C# (any additional languages a plus)

  Strong hands-on experience with two or more of Node.js, Non-Blocking Java (Vert.x/Akka/Spring Reactor/Lagom), Spring Boot, .NET Core/.NET Web API

  DevOps/Automation experience in Cloud environments (CI, CD, Aggregated Logging & Metrics)

  Understanding of two or more Database systems like SQL, NoSQL and NewSQL (e.g. MySQL PostgresQL, Cassandra, Mongo, Aurora, Spanner)

  Strong architectural knowledge of MicroServices, and ideally 12 Factor Applications and Event Driven architecture

  Agile Delivery experience

  Strong Quality Engineering knowledge (e.g. Test Pyramid, Automated Testing)

  Pay Range: $300,000 - $400,000

  The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
