  This job contributes to Starbucks success through the design, stewardship and implementation of modern activation and measurement plans for advertising and marketing programs. With an ability to both ensure flawless execution in the immediate term and build use cases and long-term technology roadmaps for internal cross functional stakeholders. The role functions as an expert technical point of escalation, an analytical problem solver, and a technical translator to internal specialty teams and stakeholders. It provides ongoing strategic direction/vision for technology, process, and digital reporting/insights.

  This role leverages expertise in advertising technologies, creation of use cases, data privacy and contract negotiations to recommend, craft and execute ad tech and mar tech projects in partnership with subject matter expert team members, agencies, vendors, and cross functional stakeholders. This role prepares Starbucks for future successes through continual innovation, synthesizing insights and business objectives to generate ideas and improve the impact of digital advertising programs.

  Leveraging your previous experience, we will enable you to:

  Discovery, Insights and Strategy

  Thorough knowledge of digital media channels, use of consumer data and infrastructure needs to deliver on desired media plans and business outcomes

  Co-Authorship of use cases, measurement plans and strategies to increase transparency and efficacy of digital advertising and marketing efforts in collaboration with subject matter managers, agency leads, and marketing leadership

  Understands end customer needs and marketing requirements, collaborates on hypothesis development and vendor evaluation and competitive bench marketing to inform technology decisions

  Cocreator of multi-year innovation vision and roadmap support capturing dependencies and cross organizational considerations

  Adept at storytelling with data at all levels of the organization, and to partners with varying levels of media acumen

  Self-starter who will evangelize and educate partners about media processes, benefits, and business outcomes.

  Financial and Business Stewardship

  Detailed understanding of Starbucks business drivers and measurement from media to business outcomes.

  Manages projects in process to ensure timelines are met and marketing /advertising requirements are delivered upon by cross functional partners

  Strong analytical and measurement skills. Conduct analysis and present data and findings clearly, concisely and accurately to evaluate success and delivery on use cases.

  Deep partnership with analytics teams and technology teams to track projects and re-prioritize based upon business needs

  Technical Interface and Advertising Industry Connectivity

  Collaborates with team, managing and setting deadlines and success metrics for new advertising toolsets and measurement approaches.

  Shares prioritized use cases with technology partners, managing workflows associated with these projects and informing stakeholders on progress

  Understands digital customer journey and business requirements, from use case identification and prioritization through to technology solutioning and development

  Self-driven learning and marketplace growth through formal technical training; industry educational opportunities, and external vendor outreach

  Engages with media, ad tech, and data vendors to identify new ad opportunities as well as discuss areas of need for the organization.

  We’d love to hear from people with:

  10-15 Prior agency, Publisher, or Client Experience (ideally retail, QSR or tech) Experience in ad technologies or advertising sales.Technical Understanding and Acumen

  Drives technical conversations with ad operations, analytics and ad tech partners to build measurement solutions

  Strong understanding of contemporary marketing analytics, advertising technology and research techniques, as well as an innovative vision on how the practice should evolve to keep pace with the ever-changing marketing environment. Understanding of Website analytics platforms, Ad Serving platforms, Mobile Measurement Partners, and programmatic toolsets.

  Strong client management/consultative experience with both presenting and resolving issues

  Extensive experience leading and managing marketing technology projects from ideation through installation

  Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills – a demonstrated ability to mine data for relevant and actionable insights

  Marketplace Knowledge

  Understanding and experience with digital media buying, KPI development, and technology practices prior to and during campaign planning and execution

  Reviews and recommends vendor engagement models to deliver both innovation as well as cost efficiency and flexibility for Starbucks

  Management and Partnership

  Able to cultivate excellent relationships with technology and research partners

  Strong management capabilities, both operationally (as well as strategically) to ensure that guidance is given to all teams on how to enhance technical needs as marketing requirements evolve)

  Mentor to peers, sharing industry, trend and external knowledge with teams to encourage continued growth and understanding of the digital marketplace
