Field Engineer 3
KBR is seeking a Field Engineer 3 to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN) in Colorado Springs. The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as company engineering representative at critical or highly sensitive base or remote locations, including customer or supplier facilities. Advises customer and contractor personnel of company requirements for products and services, support equipment and electronic equipment installations. Directs, advises, or assists in conducting regular, special, and integrated system test programs. Prepares and conducts special reports and presentations pertinent to company products and services, field operations or other applications. Plans, prepares, and conducts on-the-job training as required in support of the foregoing activities. May provide work leadership for lower-level employees. Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Requires working knowledge/background of information systems, operations, and maintenance.
Establish and maintain a high degree of professional working relationships with customers, employees, supervisors, and project managers, including Air Force and Contractor personnel.
Ensure on-site activities are appropriately scheduled to maximize cost savings/responsiveness.
Support the Site Support Integration (SSI) function to bridge operations, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
Provide Depot Level Maintenance Training to maximize expertise/capabilities.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, system interconnects drawings utilizing Air Force Technical Orders and commercial off the shelf manuals.
Familiar with test equipment such as: Analog/digital multi-meter, O-Scope, network analyzer, protocol analyzer, signal generators, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR).
Knowledge and understanding of how to utilize hand tools, skill saws, drills, socket wrenches, pliers, civil engineering type tools/techniques-fork lift, cranes, booms, and man-lifts.
Perform routine/corrective maintenance on digital data, computing, and processing equipment.
Possess an electronics background in Analog/Digital and Radio Frequency (RF) theory.
Provides the necessary technical support to projects to meet modification and sustainment objectives with regards to site activity planning and execution.
Perform operational, logistics, and maintenance interface with site personnel, equipment movements as assigned, piece-parts procurement, downtime coordinator, on-site equipment custodian, project research as assigned, antenna inspection and research as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years related field engineering experience .
Security Clearance:
Secret (or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance)
Basic Compensation:
$79,000 - $99,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
