Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Federal Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:Provide Federal Project Accounting support to various HDR offices throughcomplete project financial management in compliance with the FederalGovernment and Company policiesSet up and maintain accurate project and budget data within the accountingsystem and maintain fully executed and accurate Federally compliant auditablefilesAssist Project Managers with meeting their monthly billing deadlines,managing WIP to a minimumAssist Project Managers with their project forecasts by reviewing project workplans and updating plans as necessary (EAC, etc)Prepare timely and accurate client invoices that are compliant with contractterms and client specific needsReview project financial reports as necessary for cost accuracy andreasonableness, conduct weekly review and monitoring of cash receipt postingsInitiate Subconsultant payment releases in accordance with contract terms andcompany deadlinesParticipate or provide project financial data prior to and/or during revenuerecognition periodsPerform direct project-related labor and cost transfers within the accountingsystem as necessaryProvide Project Managers with monthly financial analyses of their projectsEnsure that Corporate and Federal policies, procedures, and best practicesare adhered to throughout the project accounting processPerform other duties as needed
#LI-BC1QualificationsRequired QualificationsMinimum 5 years experience in a cost accounting environmentKnowledge and understanding of Federal client billingKnowledge and understanding of direct, indirect, allowable, andunallowable costs associated with the FAR & GAAP accounting principalsMust have strong analytical skillsMust be detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsMust be able to work independently, and take the initiative to resolveproject financial issues in a timely mannerMust be able to manage project financial data for multiple projectsMust have experience supporting multiple departments within a corporationSkilled user of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, WordProven ability to meet deadlines, manage assigned workload, and deliveraccurate and timely resultsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of ouremployee-owned culture is a must
Preferred QualificationsDegree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field but notrequired.Previous employment with an engineering firm is highly desirable
