DescriptionThe Weld County Facilities department is looking for a Grounds/BuildingTechnician who takes pride in their work and desires to work for a great team.
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a variety of routinesemi-skilled and skilled work related to building & grounds maintenance andequipment operation.
$24.18 - $30.64 per hour plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting).

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Perform overall maintenance support for all county buildings
Document and/or log all data related to the completion of work orders ina timely manner.
Perform tasks including but not limited to the following: hang clocks,pictures; assemble furniture; accomplish office and workstation/systemsfurniture moves; install light bulbs & covers, patching walls & painting, etc.
Perform sprinkler system replacement of valves, wiring, clocks &heads; to include digging, trenching and clock programming. Understandwell operation and perform well maintenance; to include pressure gauges,valves, filters and pond fountains.
Perform the application of pesticides & herbicides under supervision
Perform minor concrete repairs, flagpole maintenance & repairs,construct and repair fences & gates, distribute license plates, etc.
Perform routine maintenance of facility grounds by safely operating allpower and/or hand equipment required to keep the facility's lawns,trees, shrubs and flowers in a clean, safe, and attractive condition,to include weed control, fertilize, removal of debris and dead foliage.
Inspect and maintain grounds and sidewalks, breezeways, parkinglots, and facility entrances in a safe, clean, and attractive conditionfree of hazards. Routinely empty trash receptacles and picks up litterthroughout the exterior areas of the facilities.
Operate machinery and tools to include boom lift, fork lift, front endloader, tractor, bobcat, trencher, mowers, trimmers' snowblowers, shovels, picks, brooms, etc.
Performs other related duties, as assigned
Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively communicate current andanticipated problems to supervisor.
May be required to be on-call status during hours other than normal shifthours and perform related work as required.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in routine conditions.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
Experience:
One year of diversified grounds keeping / landscaping work experience as agroundskeeper and/or training; or equivalent combination of training andexperience.
Other Necessary Requirements:
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License and have a good drivingrecord.
Must pass, and maintain the ability to pass, a thorough backgroundcheck at any time during employment with Weld County.
Required to work in Secure and Non-secure Detention Facilities.
Required to be available for early morning snow removal.
Must obtain and maintain certification as a Colorado Department ofAgriculture Commercial Pesticide Appli ators Certification in order to performspraying of chemicals needed for weed control. Must obtain applicator'scertification within the first year of assuming the position.
