Job Summary A Fabrication Welder sets up raw material components, primarily aluminum materials, per blueprint drawings and operates portable welding machine through application of appropriate welding techniques. Fabrication Welders weld Endurable aluminum products including balconies, canopies, sunshades, privacy screens along with other miscellaneous products. Fabrication Welder also may weld steel products including knife plates, seat plates, tie rods, brackets, and other various steel products. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Set up materials to be welded using jigs and clamps to correct positions and alignments following blueprints and layout specifications using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and tape measures. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions to form complete products or sub-component products. Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using appropriate welding gas and welding techniques for raw materials: aluminum or steel. (Mig and Tig Welding) Recognize, set up and operator hand and power tools common to the welding trade. Verify conformance of welded product to specifications using squares, tape measures and other inspection equipment as appropriate. Ability to detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials during processing and notify leads and/or supervisors. Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansions of materials. Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials required and process sequencing. Complete paperwork and identify finished materials and move products into position manually with carts, hoists, or cranes for next processing operation. Wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) required by Endurable, and always work safely. Support 5S initiatives and objectives through cleaning and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Always conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner with all Endurable employees. Make a conscientious commitment to come to work every day and be on time. Assist other departments and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Working knowledge of Company products and specifications Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Ability and skill to MIG weld and operate fabrication shop machinery Ability to measure accurately Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to a shop environment Effective communication, teamwork, production, and stress management skills Ability to easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with or without using a calculator Computer literate The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
