University of IllinoisExtension is based in the College of ACES and works with all collegesand units of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The Extension Educator serves as a regular, full time, 12 month academicprofessional with primary responsibility for the development, delivery,and evaluation of educational programs supporting the mission of theUniversity of Illinois Extension. Extension Educators support one of thefour core Extension program areas and within that program area may focuson one or more of the following interdisciplinary initiatives:Community, Environment, Economy, Food, and Health. Programmaticobjectives of Extension Educators will be consistent with national andstatewide initiatives considered of significant importance to residentsof the state of Illinois.
Extension Educators will be expected to deliver research-basededucational programs and to work within team settings that may consistof other Extension Educators, community professionals, and facultywithin and outside of the College of ACES. The establishment ofprofessional networks as well as the development of relationships withkey stakeholder groups is vital to the success of Extension Educators.Extension Educators will be expected to deliver educational programs notonly within their assigned multi-county unit, but as requested, toclientele within other units
The Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development is expected to concentrateprogrammatically as a Multi-County Unit Educator. This programmaticconcentration includes: Educate youth about critical youth developmentissues. Provide overall leadership to the entire 4-H Youth DevelopmentProgram in a multi-county unit, focusing on 4-H Clubs, 4-H Groups, andYouth Education Initiatives. Ensure program planning, programmonitoring, and program evaluation are consistent with local needs andstatewide priorities. Implement organizational systems and programs byteaming with Program Coordinators, Community Workers, and Volunteers whoassist with program management functions and teaching roles whenappropriate. Guide all program expansion and program quality processes.Create higher ed, business and community partnerships to expand andsupport 4-H youth development program initiatives. Teach and providetraining and support to skilled volunteers who teach and work withyouth. Have expertise in youth development; youth program development;volunteerism; equity, access, and opportunity; partnerships; andorganizational systems which is shared with others through volunteertrainings and professional development for staff.

Location: Unit 2 - Boone, DeKalb, and Ogle Counties

Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development, Delivery and Evaluation
Provide program leadership, interpret and integrate information, teachin the field of designated expertise, maintain the competencies todevelop and deliver educational programming, and assist clients with theappropriate resource bases.
Assess the needs of local clientele in a systematic and analyticalmanner. This will include networking and collaborating with communityorganizations and other relevant groups.
Within the designated area(s) of specialization, develop innovativecurricula and programs to address local needs as well as to mesh withthe broader state and national interdisciplinary initiatives.
Deliver high impact programs to diverse audiences utilizing a selectionof innovative delivery mechanisms to optimize reach and effectiveness,by teaming with additional Extension employees and volunteers who assistwith program management functions and teaching roles when appropriate.
Guide program expansion and program quality processes by teaching andproviding trainin
