Responsibilities Serving as a Explosives Specialist (Instructor) GS-1801-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Terrorism Mitigation Branch (TEB), Counterterrorism Division (CTD), within the Technical Training Operations Directorate (TTO) under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) and located in Glynco, Georgia. This position serves as an Explosives Specialist (Instructor) as a senior-level instructor involved in planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the CTD training program. Typical assignments include: Serving as Range Safety Officer conducting Emergency Disposal Operations and Explosives Regulatory Storage Procedures. Developing and implementing long and short-range training plans and formulating appropriate financial operating plans and program procedures to ensure the training program meets the needs and interests of the organizations served. Conducting research on emerging technology, practices, and techniques to enhance instructional knowledge, skills and tailor training to a specific audience. MANPADS and Suicide Bomber Mitigation, First Response, Weapons/Explosives Detection, Operations Security, Range Safety Officer and Emergency Disposal Operations, and Explosives Regulatory Storage Procedures.
