　　Our National Security Global Business is currently seeking an Engineer (Textiles, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial). This position located in Natick, MA with 10-20% travel required (U.S. Locations).

　　Responsibilities

　　Apply technical knowledge to research, development, test, and evaluation efforts for new, improved, or specialized clothing (including cold weather clothing), equipment, and systems

　　Propose testing and engineering research and development proposals

　　Plan and perform material and system testing as part of clothing development efforts.

　　Perform biophysical testing of clothing and clothing systems using sweating thermal manikins in accordance with ASTM and Navy Clothing Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) test methodologies.

　　Perform textile physical property and characteristics testing in accordance with AATCC, ASTM, DoD, and NCTRF test methodologies.

　　Innovate ways to integrate emerging technologies in testing and design processes

　　Perform initial data aggregation and analysis.

　　Analyze information and data and assess status of testing projects.

　　Develop, update, and write technical documents, project plans, presentations, and reports.

　　Support data analysis and preparation of documents; conduct research to align documents to current industry practices.

　　Review ballistic protection and flame resistance requirements; inspect garments to assess if protective clothing meets performance standards.

　　Apply technical knowledge to clothing design and manufacturing processes

　　Inspect and validate garment construction based on specification; communicate with project officers and customer on identified discrepancies and/or areas for improvement.

　　Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings.

　　Key Qualifications

　　Bachelor's degree in related field and 12-15 years’ experience in the technical field.

　　Ten plus years of familiarity with ASTM, ISO, AATCC and Specification documents.

　　Must have an understanding of heat transport, experiment design, basic statistics, and data analysis. Must also be able to analyze technical data.

　　Ability to use spreadsheet and word processor software applications

　　Must be able to identify, troubleshoot, report, and resolve data inconsistencies and equipment issues as well as be able to learn to operate test and evaluation equipment and software.

　　Experience with research and development/evaluation and testing.

　　Good oral and written communication skills.
