  The Role

  Are you a professional who possesses strong analytical, organizational, communication, cross team collaboration skills and the ability to adopt constantly evolving regulations and operational demands? As a Director of Valuations, you will rely on these skills to ensure the accuracy and quality of security pricing & valuation through analysis and judgement to produce and release accurate, timely fund NAVs to Fidelity Shareholders. Your ability to work within a team under pressure to deliver business results timely will be essential to success in your role and in helping to support the service line's overall mission to achieve new efficiencies through process engineering and operational perfection.

  The Director of Valuations provides leadership and supports partnership at the business unit and divisional level for business essentials including: risk management, operational strategy, systems enhancement prioritization, communication strategy, customer/vendor/peer relationships, resource alignment, personnel development, cost control, project management, business continuity and new business opportunities. You will have leadership responsibilities covering specific aspects of pricing operations performed by the team, with an emphasis on Complex Valuation, onboarding of new instruments, across the full suite of Fidelity products.

  Expertise and Skills You Bring

  Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years experience in the financial services industry. Including pricing and mutual fund experience.Strong knowledge of various equity and fixed income instruments covering US and Europe markets are a must. Knowledge in derivate instruments and alternative products a plus.Provide qualitative and quantitative support for derivative valuation across the organization.Provide expertise in the assessment of new derivatives as it related to security valuation, ensuring proper operation preparedness.Synthesize data, analyses, and conclusions into presentation form, and deliver strategic recommendations to Senior Leadership and Product Team.Leads and maintains relationships with business partners and expectations of service levels.Presence and judgment to put forward well-reasoned recommendations and engage in dialogue with key decision-makers.Ability to utilize knowledge and expertise to ensure proper daily valuation of derivatives.End to end problem solving capabilities from defining complex problems to synthesizing key points and drawing out connections to broader trends and business prioritiesOutstanding analytical, anomaly detection, and problem-solving capabilities.Strong communication skills with the ability to assist with developing and delivering cogent, insightful presentations to various internal leaders and key business partners.Ability to learn quickly and under pressure in a dynamic environmentAbility to handle ambiguity, and to manage several prioritiesAbility to foster effective relationships, and to develop the credibility and standing to inform and challenge senior business partnersActively partner with associates to ensure relevant on-the-job development and career growth.Cultivate an engaged and inclusive environment.

  The Team

  The Valuation Team is a part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit, specifically the Fund Operations division, consisting of: Fund Accounting, Valuations, Alternative Investments, and Expense Billing & Treasury Operations. The collective Fund Operations team provides accounting and pricing services to all of the Fidelity Retail, Institutional products and ETFs, supporting multiple asset managers (i.e. FMR, SAI, GEODE, and FIC). These services include books and records maintenance, securities' pricing, and net asset value, yield and distribution rate calculations. The division is comprised of 6 business units, representing approximately 290 associates located primarily in 2 sites; Merrimack, NH, and Westlake, TX.
