About Director, UKI SMB Segment

  Description

  As AWS rapidly grows the business and team in Europe, we are seeking an AWS UK & Ireland SMB (Small Medium Business) Segment Leader to focus on building, shaping and growing this fast-growing crucial part of the business. As the AWS UKI SMB Segment leader, the successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to drive growth at scale and to shape the future of technology. As a flagship market in EMEA, the leader will be part of the EMEA SMB leadership team and will set pace for the broader EMEA SMB strategy and execution. They will also be part of the AWS UKI leadership team, to execute on the UKI market specific strategy and deliverables.

  As one of the top leaders in EMEA, the UKI SMB Segment Leader will be responsible for mobilizing the segment specific business operations including sales, solution architects, partner development and marketing. They will have to lead, build and develop a high-performance team that will deliver the best experience for customers. While setting the operational processes required connecting customers’ needs with business priorities, the incumbent will continue operating at the highest level of rigor and quality.

  Key job responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate and oversee the business strategy of the UK SMB segment

  • Identify, implement, measure and improve critical KPIs that will help maintain a robust business operating process

  • Instill and maintain a positive culture in the organization that inspires performance and achievement

  • Ensure customer satisfaction across the business

  • Define go-to-market strategies to accelerate customer adoption at scale, facilitating market penetration and growth

  • Work with partners to scale, extend reach & drive adoption

  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services

  • Help drive revenue and market share in the defined territory

  • Act as an executive sponsor in key accounts

  • Represent the company in appropriate professional and community events

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  London, GBR

  Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • The ideal candidate will possess both a background that enables them to drive engagement across SMB segment accounts, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects

  • Significant experience in forecasting, account management, sales planning and sales operations with a track record of exceeding revenue quota and new customer adoption goals within commercial accounts

  • S/he should be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver

  • Knowledge of the UKI SMB market is a perceived key to success

  • S/he should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about sales, business, product, and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus

  • A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must

  Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or further education
