Summary
As a Technical Director, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership to drive technical initiatives while also helping to set overall technical objectives and strategy. The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background and be able to manage and motive people. Others within the organization will look to you for leadership on delivering competitive and marketable solutions and offerings. As part of the center of excellence team, the Director of Tooling Engineering provides the organization with best practices focused on lean manufacturing and tooling process improvements in collaboration with team members.
The Director of Tooling Engineering will work to develop procedures, solutions, and analyze key performance indicators to find ways to improve plant performance while also responsible to represent Pace Industries as the technical Liaison between the customer and the Pace Manufacturing facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities(but not limited to...)As a Technical director, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership to drive technical initiatives while also helping set overall technical objectives and strategy.Apply data driven tooling design principles on existing manufacturing processes for solutions.Identifying areas that need tooling optimization in alignment with plant budget needs.Evaluating the efficiency of manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and tools and communizing standard practices across plants.Identifying areas for improvement and developing solutions for enhancement to automate the manufacturing processes focused on tooling.Support cycle time advancement using best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.Manages overall engineering budget and costs without compromising quality and efficiency.Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.Keeping abreast of developments and innovation in automation.Driving technical innovation, leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning with plant and Pace Leadership.Attract, develop, and retain talent to achieve a strong team; and develop own technical, coaching and leadership skills to stay in-line with industry trends.Enforce technical standards, policies, and procedures where applicable.Serve as a change agent, actively cultivate an inclusive engineering culture to create high performing teams and individuals with a goal of sustainable, long-term growth and customer partnership.Exhibit strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and leadership skills to build loyalty trust, and commitments from key customer contacts involved with making decisions.Embraces a Kaizen mindset relative to continuous improvement of processes and automation. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required10+ years' experience leading complex engineerin
