Job Summary:<br>The Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial, IT, and HR functions of Commerce Chenango. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements. The Director of Operations collaborates closely with the President & CEO, staff members, board members, stakeholders, and chamber members to support the organization's mission and strategic goals.<p>
Responsibilities:<br>Financial Management:<br><li>Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals.<li> Manage & Lead the budgeting process, including creation, monitoring, and reporting as required.<li> Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis for the President & CEO and the Board of Directors.<li> Manage & Lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.<li> Mange all monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings.<li> Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to optimize the organization's financial position.<li> Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and resource allocation.<p>
IT Management:<br><li> Oversee the organization's IT initiatives, including systems implementation, software upgrades, and data security measures.<li> Identify technology needs and solutions that enhance operational efficiency.<li> Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.<p>
Human Resources:<br><li> Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and policy enforcement.<li> Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and policies related to employee benefits.<li> Collaborate with the President & CEO to align HR practices with the organization's goals and values.<li> Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, teamwork, diversity, and inclusivity.<li> Lead and maintain the organization's HR Committee <p>
Qualifications:<br><li> Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.<li> 4 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a nonprofit organization.<li> Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.<li> Experience in IT management and systems implementation is highly desirable.<li> Knowledge of HR practices, payroll and payroll processing, State and federal regulations & compliance, and employee relations.<li> Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.<li> Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. <li> Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.<li> Strong leadership and team management skills.<li> Ability to attend evening and weekend events to support the organization as needed.
