  The Director, Incident Response is responsible for incident response and threat intelligence activities within the Information Security function. The incumbent will lead and grow a team of experienced security professionals, mature processes, playbooks, and use threat intelligence to evolve prevention and detection capabilities.

  ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Manages security incidents and events, leading the investigation and containment of incidents, to protect company assets, including intellectual property, regulated data and the company's reputation.

  Partners with IT Leadership in the recovery from incidents, coordinate with law enforcement agencies at the direction from Legal and develop the post-response strategy including lessons learned.

  Oversees, actively tests and refines the incident response plan.

  Partners with third party Incident Responders as needed.

  Liaisons with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, HR, IT, Internal Audit, Business Development, and other internal stakeholders

  Leads the selection of supporting tools and the development of processes to leverage tool capabilities.

  Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the Information Security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.

  Evaluates new security threats and healthcare technology trends and develops related monitoring and alerting to identify new Indicators of Compromise

  Protects intellectual property, trade secrets, and other sensitive information from insider threats.

  Conducts insider threat investigations at the direction of Legal and HR

  Builds an incident response team ready to act including hiring, training, development, performance management and annual performance review.

  Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision of direct reports.

  Develops and grows team members, identifies development needs, and provides skill building and cross-training opportunities for the team.

  Develops and manages budgets and monitors for variances.

  Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) is required.

  Current knowledge of federal and state privacy and security laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices.

  Ability to serve as a security resource to all levels including executive management, department staff, and external bodies, such as state agencies.

  Demonstrate competence in the areas of critical thinking and problem solving, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.

  Track record of collaboration and relationship building

  Ability to exercise independent judgment.

  Ability to travel local, regionally, and nationwide up to 10% of the time.

  Spoken and written fluency in English

  High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field is required

  7 years’ experience in Information Security

  5 years’ experience in leadership capacity

  Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

  Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
