Jobs Summary:
The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for the daily monitoring, management, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for all the trading software components in our AWS platform. This position works closely with our technology, operations, and business development teams to provide end-to-end platform support and application management services. This role is also responsible for a general understanding of products, services, solutions, SLAs, and DevOps (automation) tools. Where appropriate, the Site Reliability Engineer will contribute to innovation and continuous improvement efforts to reduce operational costs relating to the application portfolio. Consistent, sustained communication across IT, Operations, and Trading is required.
Job Responsibilities:
+ + Support software releases, configuration, monitoring all production system components and infrastructure, and ensure that production changes follow change management best practices
Define and manage SLA for all applications, provide quick and accurate impact analysis, effective root cause analysis, timely resolution, and management of strong relationships with business
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing support documentation, new user onboarding, user training, run book, issues tracking disaster recovery, and infrastructure testing
Responsible for providing application support, code deployments, maintenance of DevOps pipelines and application reliability
Takes ownership of the production environment and is accountable for analyzing the issues, and works with developers to fix the problem and migrate the respective changes to the production
Understand application security and change management guidelines and maintain appropriate controls are implemented and followed
Implement moderate to high complexity code changes that resolve root causes of incidents or enhance operational characteristics (resilience, scalability, etc.) to applications that support business operations and client activity
Design and develop dev ops and site reliability tools that streamline support processes and troubleshoot the issues by debugging the pipeline code, reproducing the issues, and providing solutions
Responsible for the communication of upcoming releases, production status, system outages, infrastructure/disaster maintenance, and business continuity tests
Responsible for working with internal/external audits and providing evidence for production changes and migration
Coordinate with external teams for Organization level IT changes such as SB IT, and other Investment technology teams
Understand and gain expert knowledge on applications and play an SME role
Acknowledge and help solve tickets from the organization's ITSM tool
Other projects as assigned to enhance further and automate the systems and operations
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Information systems or related degree
Experience in Site reliability engineering, DevOps, application or production support
Good hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services
Background in any CI/CD pipelines, Code Migrations
Background in any one of the scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell
Knowledge of database query technologies like SQL
Background in any job scheduling software such as UC4
Comfortable working in Windows Operating system and Linux operating systems and scripting
Ability to be flexible and participate in an on-call program to support critical applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
4+ years of experience in Application support or DevOps engineering or Site Reliability Engineering
Tools and Technologies; Programming: Python, Powershell, SQL Server, Redis, AWS, Linux, Containers
Experience/Knowledge in GitLab and CI/CD processes and tools
Financial background and understanding of the financial markets is a plus but not mandatory
