Grade 3NPosition Description:Graduate Program Department Coordinator IIIThe Department of Microbiology is looking for an energetic, self-starter to join their administrative team as the Department Coordinator III of the Graduate Program.This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the graduate program, to include semester admissions, reporting, and assisting with student scheduling. This person will also work directly with the Graduate Program Faculty Director and assists with information on grades, meeting scheduling, and any dissertation scheduling for the students. The Coordinator will act as a liaison between faculty, staff and students and promote retention with various activities. They will also conduct course and academic progress audits each semester for first and second-year students enrolled in classes and implement degree audits for graduation. They will be required to remain up-to-date on policies and procedures related to admissions. Will coordinate the admissions process under the direction of the admissions committee, process applications and coordinate interviews of prospective students. Manage and update student database used for Student Services and Academic Advising and maintain a database of graduates and placement data for assembling graduate student data into reports and reviews. Manage and coordinate Seminar Series. Make travel arrangements for guest speakers and assist with the coordination of itineraries. Act as a course support for Course Directors for Dental Microbiology. Prepare written materials for the graduate catalog, recruitment brochure and other publications. Manage the departmental website including adding events, news and announcements. Coordinate and implement the student orientation sessions, student welcome luncheon, and the annual Thanksgiving potluck. Maintain a a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, PeopleSoft Student Records, Blackboard, Website/Plone.
