  Your Role and Responsibilities

  This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 4 month work term commencing in May 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full -time studies upon completion of the work-term.

  Your Role and Responsibilities: 

  As a Delivery Consultant Intern, you will work closely with a Delivery Consultant coach to deliver industry-leading solutions to IBM clients. In this role, you will learn and experience how we apply technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery using consultative skills such as problem-solving issue- / hypothesis-based methodologies, communication, and service orientation skills. As a member of IBM Technology Expert Labs, you will be client-focused, courageous, pragmatic, and technical to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges. 

  To help achieve this win-win outcome, a 'day-in-the-life' of this internship program may include, but not be limited to...

  Understanding clients' main challenges and developing solutions that help them reach true business value by working through the phases of design, development integration, implementation, migration, and product support with a sense of urgency

  Creating and executing agile plans where you are responsible for installing and provisioning assets, testing, migrating to production, and day-two operations

  Demonstrating a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions

  Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team

  Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  Excellent communication and presentation skills that are engaging, compelling, and influential

  B.S. in M.I.S., Business/Communications with a STEM minor, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering.

  Understanding and experience with at least one programming language, design tools, or Quantum Computing (e.g. Python, Java, C/C++)

  Familiar with open architectural design including Kubernetes and Container design, database's structure and data fabric, and integrating using API's and scripting

  Must be eligible to work 4 months starting in May

  Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  Problem-solving skills with attention to detail, precision, and time management

  Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team

  Demonstrate a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions

  Registered in a formal co-op/internship program

  Location StatementMust have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.

  This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.
