The COHS has more than 5,000 students, 30% of whom are enrolled in oneof the college\'s 11 fully online programs. The COHS houses the Schoolof Allied Health Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Publicand Population Health, and the School of Social Work. It has three ofBoise State\'s top ten highest enrollment programs - Nursing,Kinesiology and Health Studies. In addition, the college overseesUniversity Health Services which provides medical, behavioral, andwellness services for the campus community. The clinic and counselingcenter provided more than 20,000 visits last year.
The COHS Student Services and Academic Advising office is committed tostudent growth through a variety of services targeted towardsprofessional, academic, and career exploration and development. Theadvising office hosts a variety of focused workshops and events forstudents looking to be admitted into COHS programs and graduate schools.As part of university-wide initiatives in student retention andenrollment management, the Dean will lead efforts to support the StudentServices and Academic Advising office. Additionally, Boise Stateoperates on a modified Responsibility Centered Management (RCM) budgetmodel. The next Dean will need to have a growth mentality and becreative with the acquisition and allocation of resources to addressstrategic goals that position the college within specific niche areasfor continued success.
The university continues to increase its research expenditures and theCOHS is critical to continued growth in this area. The Dean will play akey role in providing leadership and support to faculty with the aim ofcontinuing to improve the extramural funding within COHS whilecontinuing the robust growth within graduate education through multipledelivery platforms. Many opportunities exist to expand and deepen thefund-raising efforts within the College. Working with UniversityAdvancement, the Dean will have the responsibility to generate resourcesthat support students and advance the mission of the college.

Reporting directly to the Provost and VP for Academic Aff irs, the Deanserves as the chief academic and executive officer of the college.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate or terminal degree in one of the disciplines in thecollege or a closely related field.A distinguished record of achievement in the areas of research,teaching, and service with evidence of professional distinction thatmerits appointment at the rank of tenured, full professor within theCollege.3-5 years of administrative/leadership experience in highereducation overseeing operations of sufficient complexity to preparethe candidate to be successful as Dean of the COHS.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to be collaborative and engaged in faculty governance,academic leadership, administrative leadership (e.g., conductingevaluations and supervising faculty and staff) and developingfaculty/staff leadership.
Experience in overseeing and managing large and complex budgets whilenavigating university fiscal structures and processes.
Strong listening skills, keen intellectual curiosity, bold vision forthe future of education, robust interpersonal skills, strong analyticalabilities, and transparent communication.
Demonstrated effectiveness as an innovative leader.
