Job Description Summary
The Model Engineer works in conjunction with Project Managers, Platform Leaders, to meet required program milestones, deliverables, and cost.
The CT7 TurboProp Model Engineering Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, and will have prime responsibility for the CT7- 9B, -9C3, -5A (Saab 340), & CT7-7, -9C ( CN235) Programs. The Model Engineer addresses technical issues and opportunities in all phases of the product’s life cycle with minimal guidance. The Model Engineer identifies, develops, and integrates existing and new products and processes to meet goals across the Aviation business.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Execute with limited guidance the assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.
Execute the CT7 TurboProp programs that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.
Lead all CT7-9B, -9C, -9C3, -5A, & -7 Programs with ownership of Cost/Schedule/Program deliverables
Resolve customer questions and ensure that customer inquiries are aligned to contractual deliverables, and where there may be opportunities to pursue new contractual arrangements.
Coordinate and facilitate team meetings with distinct engineering disciplines to ensure collaboration.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate.
Provide Project Management proficiency to ongoing projects, including facilitating, coordinating and administration of these cross-functional teams.
Collaborate and participate/present in Commercial Platform Reviews, Commercial Scorecard Reviews and PCB
Ensure that individual team efforts have the right Leadership reviews, CTH visibility and Chief Engineering approvals.
Provide Cost Account Management to all Program and Project responsibilities.
Collaborate with the cross-functional and global teams supporting Engineering activities for the Engine Line, meet and understand the financial objectives.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position
Desired Characteristics
Demonstrated strong Systems Integration background with previous Model Engineer experience/leadership and project management.
Ability to guide and influence others
In-depth understanding of engineering Systems Engineering Process and tools
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
At least 8 additional years’ experience in an engineering position
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to guide and influence others
Demonstrated process orientation. Lead teams in CIDs, TG Reviews, Design Reviews, TOPS8Ds, SRDs and Engineering Investigations
