DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe Casework Manager, Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Children, Youth, and Families (OCYF), under the authority of the Regional Office Administrator, Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF), will oversee the clinical work and activities of each casework unit within the regional office. This includes working collaboratively with all the support teams to ensure the best clinical decisions are being made on cases and with DHS Teaming Institute to ensure cases are carried out in adherence to the OCYF Practice Model of Conferencing and Teaming as well as State and Federal mandates. You will need to achieve and maintain Conferencing and Teaming Coaching status as determined by the DHS Conferencing and Teaming Institute. Additionally, you will work closely with the multi-system team as well as other DHS Program offices in order to have clinical oversight for children and families. Most importantly you will oversee this collaborative effort to assess the strengths and needs of individuals and families and reconnect foster care children and adults with positive family and kin utilizing a variety of tools and family engagement strategies and ensuring fidelity to the Conferencing and Teaming business process.
Other duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Overseeing Casework Supervisors to ensure the best clinical management of all cases under OCYF supervision.
Orientation of new Caseworkers and Casework Supervisors to the operation of the unit and the DHS/OCYF.
Developing the skills of Caseworkers and Casework Supervisors through teaching, coaching, role modeling, and informing workers of the availability of training resources.Teaching or supplying information to Caseworkers and Casework Supervisors on DHS/OCYF policies and procedures, relevant legal mandates, sound social service principles for the study, diagnosis and treatment of family and social problems, relevant theories of child development, family dynamics and more.
Applying knowledge for case planning, techniques of crisis intervention, correct record keeping and recording procedures, availability of community resources for consumers, caseload coverage and management.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.Other Requirements:
