Description
Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Major responsibilities
Analyze costs and recommend cost savings
Perform internal cost audits
Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory
Estimate new and proposed product costs
Assemble reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Help prepare general ledgers and assist in audits
Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

Requirements - Experience working with organizational accounting concepts
Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
