Our client, is looking for a Chicago Controller role requiring a blend of leadership, financial expertise, and interpersonal skills. responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Assemble, lead, and develop an accounting team adhering to core values, providing timely, accurate, value-add financial information to the Chicago leadership team and other team members.
Communicate with financial leaders across the company for input on best practices.
Financial Reporting:
Accurate reporting of historical financial information.
Tax Reporting:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Treasury and Risk Management:
Manage treasury functions and mitigate financial risks.
Value Add:
Provide analyses and insight to drive decisions for the growth and profitability of Chicago.
Act as a business partner, providing input to key decisions.
Identify Technology Efficiency Opportunities:
Work with IT to implement technological improvements.
Measures of Performance:
Fulfillment of all job responsibilities.
Commitment to the development and growth of the accounting team.
Effective communication and development of working relationships.
Timely and accurate reports and communications.
Integrity of confidential information.
Demonstration of honesty, fairness, flexibility, and tact.

qualifications:
Four-year college degree in Accounting.
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA designation strongly preferred.
Minimum five years of experience.
Prefer two-four years in public accounting and three or more years in private accounting with a multi-location, medium to large-sized manufacturer.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in financial modeling, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
Work effectively under pressure and time deadlines.
Analytical skills to identify root causes and propose logical solutions.
