  Location: Bensenville, IL (On-site)

  Schedule: Mon-Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm

  Status: Full-Time

  Compensation: at 58K Annually

  $300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period

  Summary/Objective

  Midwest Goods is looking to hire a successful content writer to be responsible for style and format consistency across all projects and communicating with other team members to produce the best writing possible. Your role will be crucial to attracting potential customers to our brand by producing compelling content that our business’ target market may be interested in reading about.

  Essential Functions:

  Write creative, clean, and error-free copy for a variety of media including print, email, and web

  Contribute innovative ideas to brainstorming sessions and write persuasive and impactful headers and supporting copy for multiple platforms

  Develop captivating email subject lines and body copy that resonates with our target audience, driving engagement, click-throughs, and conversions

  Create alluring and authentic narratives that enhance retail product appeal

  Help in developing content that entices social engagement and followership

  Review and edit content to eliminate errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic

  Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics

  Manage advertising campaigns and coordinate open house events

  Required Skills:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and industry professionals

  Basic understanding of SEO keyword usage

  Superb writing skills and strong grammarian

  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage an ever-changing and fast-paced workload

  Desire and flexibility to assume the roles of individual contributor, team player and leader simultaneously as the organization evolves

  Experience working retail, lifestyle brand and/or e-commerce a plus, Some HTML and CSS is preferred however not mandatory.

  Experience using editors in Content management system like WordPress

  Experience creating emails in email applications such as Mail chimp & content Contact

  Some image editing experience in photoshop - resize, crop etc.

  Work Environment

  This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  Required Education and Experience

  Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. At least 3 years’ experience in advertising/marketing agency or in-house marketing department

  Must have intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Photoshop, and knowledge of Google‐based programs such as google sheets/Docs.

  Work Authorization

  Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
