  Job Details

ATI builds and manages collaborations that conducts research and development of new technologies to solve our nation’s most pressing challenges. Our collaborations are custom-built teams of organizations from industry and academia that develop novel technologies for the federal government. Traditionally, these processes are complicated and burdensome. That’s where ATI comes in. We simplify and streamline processes to make it all work. When you work at ATI, you become a part of something larger than yourself. Our collective work – no matter what department or division you work in – ultimately enables the warfighter, saves lives, and diversifies the industrial base. At our core, ATI is a service organization. We are in service to others; it’s what we do, and it’s who we are.

  Position Description

ARPA-H creates an environment to support the best ideas from Program Managers that bring together dynamic teams to solve the toughest health challenges. Their rigorous program design, competitive project selection process, and active program management ensure thoughtful and impactful expenditures. ARPA-H Program Managers serve for limited terms to ensure a constant infusion of fresh thinking and new perspectives. ARPA-H awardees through ARPANET-H are developing entirely new ways to tackle the hardest challenges in health.

ARPANET-H is a nationwide health innovation network that connects people, innovators, and institutions. This network is anchored by three regional hubs — one focused on designing for the American people and their caregivers, another on catalyzing markets and industry to ensure solutions thrive after government funding, and a third hub in the National Capital Region and focused on coordinating with federal partners and managing ARPA-H’s programs.

The Customer Experience Hub (CX Hub) puts people at the center of ARPA-H programs and projects, developing technologies that will be accessible, desirable, and affordable for all. It will incorporate human centered and design-thinking principles in a variety of ways, including reaching patient populations and engaging with providers. This consortium is located in Dallas, TX and managed by the Consortium Management Firm (CMF) ATI.

The CMF, ATI, is seeking four Community Engagement Specialist candidates for the four regions of the US: Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. This role is responsible for connecting with community-based organizations, maintaining relationships, and ensuring that scopes for collaboration are feasible, executed effectively, and documented so key insights can be passed to ARPA-H PMs when aligned to project topics. Candidates may be located in metro centers in each of these regions where travel to regional airports does not take more than a business day. These roles are critical to ARPA-H’s vision to be community-led in our solutions for America’s health futures.

Apply at ATI.ORG; we only accept applications submitted through our applicant tracking system.

This is a remote position located in the Southwestern Region of the United States with travel requirements

  Essential Functions

Identify relevant community-based organizations based on ARPA-H’s four focus areas for health research. Focus on small, yet impactful, organizations providing direct services to communities and that have garnered high-levels of trust (e.g., faith-based organizations, barbershops/beauty salons, community centers, non-profits, local governments, etc)

Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations (CBO): Generate and maintain bi-directional communications with community partners, so ARPA-H has a clear understanding of the CBOs’ priorities and CBOs are kept aware of how their insights have impacted ARPA-H's decision-making

Maintain and grow network of organizations by using a variety of outreach methods (workshops, conferences, town halls, local marketing, etc).

Work with ARPA-H PMs to design targeted outreach within community network specific to projects as needed.

Maintain a database which captures the type of work each organization pursues and the modes in which they can engage with the PATIO team (e.g. community research, co-design, expert perspectives, regional convenings)

Explore, scope, and support ways for community-based organizations to engage with ARPA-H in furthering research priorities, programs, and other projects. The community engagement specialists will push information about existing opportunities to gain community support and pull needs from the community to inform ARPA-H PMs.

Collaborate closely with the Community Engagement Manager to align on weekly priorities

Collaborate with other Community Engagement Specialists to share strategies, support each other and build tools for the broader team

Serve as a generative thought partner to the ARPANET-H Division and the Project Accelerator Transition Innovation Office (PATIO) Design Lead on relevant tools and approaches to use with each CBO that is respectful of their time, resources, and lived-experience and aligns with ARPA-H goals
