*The City of Moses Lake is accepting applications for a Code Enforcement Officer position in the Community Development department. *
This position performs inspections to enforce compliance with City codes and ordinances.
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Conducts field inspections to identify violations of City codes and ordinances; prepares written inspection reports; issues warnings and citations; conducts re-inspections to determine if issues are resolved. Proactively patrols and inspects locations for code violations during the course of duties. Researches and identifies property owners. Collects photographic evidence of inspection results. Maintains case files and records. Receives and responds to complaints from both internal and external customers related to violations. Answers inquiries and provides information to both internal and external customers regarding code enforcement regulations and policies. Drafts voluntary compliance agreements. Prepares cases and appears in court or other judicial proceedings to submit evidence and case summaries for the enforcement/prosecution of violations of codes, ordinances and/or laws. Coordinates weed abatements processes; submits abatement reports to City Council for approval. Attends City Council meetings as requested to provide information and make presentations. Completes a variety of regular and special reports.
