As a Catering Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Culinary Department within our facility. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of a diverse range of culinary creations, including the development and presentation of daily menu items. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef/Chef in crafting innovative menus and assisting in the ordering process. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial culinary professional.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and monitoring expenditures for the catering department.
Assist in planning and creating appealing menus that cater to our clients' preferences and event requirements.
Execute flawless catering events that leave a lasting impression on our clients and guests.
Contribute to the introduction of fresh culinary programs in alignment with the Company's marketing and culinary team.
Uphold the highest standards of food quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
Utilize your computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet, to streamline administrative tasks.
Willingly participate in client satisfaction programs and activities to ensure exceptional service.
Preferred Qualifications:
An Associate's degree or equivalent culinary experience.
Possess progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, with consideration for formal degree or training.
Previous catering experience is a valuable asset.
Familiarity with high-volume and complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
Institutional and batch cooking experience can be beneficial.
In-depth knowledge of food and catering trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
ServSafe certification is highly desirable to maintain food safety standards.
