Team and Position Description
The Business Solutions group integrates product, systems, and project management expertise to execute the bank’s operations strategic plans. In addition to supporting production, Business Solutions provides requirements gathering analysis, user testing support, and project management functions within operations related system projects within the Americas region.
Role and Responsibilities
The Business Analyst in this position under the Business Solutions group will function as a Subject Matter Expert who will be involved in payment system replacement/enhancement projects by executing project tasks such as test execution, training supports and create artifacts required for executing migration. The payment system replacement/enhancement projects are due to the wire protocol changes to ISO20022 Standard for SWIFT/FedWire/CHIPS. To meet the required role and responsibilities, this analyst will work closely with other project supporting members as well as Operations unit members throughout the project life cycle to ensure the requirements are captured, tested accurately, and deliverables are provided in a timely manner and in quality.
Responsibilities:
Supports High-Value-Payment(HVP) business lines for GPP, OVS and other payments related systems covering all facets of Operations including deal processing, payments, confirmations, AML and reconciliations.
Test Planning and Coordination for ISO20022 Project team on the business operation side. Ensure application meets business requirements. Create Test Plans and Test Scripts, then execute and track the progress of test case execution. Plans and Coordinates for Migration tests and real Migration.
Monitor the progress of test execution, and make adjustments and solutions as necessary to ensure the successful completion.
Creates and Conducts End User Training Materials
Provides supports to the Team Manager to ensure all related initiatives are maintained on schedule and completed according to plan. Communicate project issues, status and updates in a timely manner.
Provide coordination and socialization with stakeholder teams from both business and IT throughout test execution cycles including preparation.
Provide supports to the Team Manager to ensure all related projects’ tasks and activities are maintained on track.
Qualifications:
Must have 5+ years of business analysis experience related to payments processing for a major financial institution, 8-10+ years’ experience overall as a Business Analyst.
Must have strong knowledge of high value payments (HVP) including SWIFT messages and Fedwire/CHIPS including payments related to Customer Remittance and Corporate banking products such as FX and Loans.
Must have strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
Must have 3+ years of test execution experience related to HVP payments processing of both SWIFT and Fedwire/CHIPS.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to include listening, verbal and written skills
Understanding of software testing best practices and test management
Hands-on experience of Global Pay Plus (GPP) is a plus
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook)
Proficiency in SQL, Business Objects, or database inquiry tools a plus
Excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to synthesize ambiguous information and develop creative solutions
Must be a goal-oriented with strong commitments to duties in a dynamic environment
Must possess individual initiative, self-discipline and integrity, leadership qualities
Experience leading or working on team-related projects within their related majors or externally via extracurricular activities
Proficiency of Japanese is a plus
The typical base pay range for this role is between $70K– $85K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
