  GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Seminoe State Park and the surrounding area offer Wyoming wildlife and recreation at their finest. Camping, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and ATV touring are all available within the immediate area. The sights and sounds of wildlife are best in and near Seminoe State Park. You'll have the opportunity to view big horn sheep, elk, mule deer, antelope, coyote, mountain lion, bobcat, fox, martin, raccoon, skunk, jackrabbit, cottontail rabbit, eagles, and other birds of prey plus many types of waterfowl and migratory birds.

In addition to the transcontinental railroad, Fort Fred Steele State Historic Site covers most historical themes in Wyoming. From historic pioneer trails to Wyoming politics and the agricultural and mining interests that came to define the state early on – livestock, coal, gold, and timber. Fort Steele was occupied until August 7, 1886, by soldiers who were sent by the U.S. Government to guard the railroad river crossing and assist in the settlement of the West.

Seminoe State Park and Fort Fred Steele State Historic Site are hiring maintenance workers at both locations. Housing is provided for the positions at Seminoe State Park. Photos of the housing are available upon request. The employment season is from mid-May to mid-September. The actual length of employment depends on the demand for services.
