Position Summary/Description:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with UNC System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Associate Director is responsible for managing all aspects of alumni relations, including but not limited to directing the operations and board of directors of the SON Alumni Association, as well as developing key messages, communications, events and activities for alumni engagement.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development and Alumni Relations will serve as a frontline fundraiser responsible for building relationships with and securing leadership annual gifts ranging from $1,000-25,000, from the School of Nursing’s ( SON ) 10,000+ alumni and other donors. The Associate Director will plan, direct and implement all aspects of the school’s annual giving program, including personal solicitations, direct mail, digital media, GiveUNC, Senior Class Campaign, reunion and class giving programs, and volunteer recruitment, training and management.

Education and Experience:
3+ years of demonstrated successful annual giving or transferable experience preferred. Ability to interact effectively in a comprehensive research university setting. Familiarity with the University’s academic and administrative offices and their functions; knowledge of and ability to tap resources within the University community.
