About the Team
AP is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion, andhard work of students and educators from secondary schools and highereducation. With almost 40 courses in a wide variety of subject areas, APprovides willing and academically prepared high school students with theopportunity to study and learn at the college level. The AP program israpidly expanding its development of instructional and assessmentproducts under the leadership of the growing Assessment Production team.The team currently consists of 18 talented and collaborativeprofessionals with expertise in a variety of domains that are integralto the assessment production process.
To support the continued production of high-quality teacher- andstudent-facing materials, the AP Program is looking fill the role ofAssociate Director, AP Editorial Production.
About the Opportunity
The Associate Director, AP Editorial Production will oversee project andprocess management for the various editorial reviews across all APcourses and products, maintaining and communicating detailed reportingand status tracking across a number of interdependent workstreams.Partnering with the AP Editorial team, AP content teams, and variousother stakeholders, the Associate Director, AP Editorial Production willensure that all assessment items undergo the rigorous vetting andediting processes that ensure a high-quality end product for AP teachersand students.
As an Associate Director of AP Assessment Production, you are anintegral member of the cross-functional team building and delivering APExams and Instructional resources. You are a collaborative, insightful,and highly-motivated professional, with a keen eye for detail and apassion for educational opportunity. You are not shy about digging intoambiguity and you are quick to propose more efficient ways of gettingthings done.
In this role, you will:
Build and maintain detailed editorial production plans across coursesand products (40%)
Develop and maintain detailed review schedules for all summative andformative assessments as well as other ad hoc editorial initiativesMaintain clear and up-to-date documentation of the status of alleditorial deliverablesCollaborate with relevant CB stakeholders to refine and reviseprioritization of competing deliverables, managing editorial teambandwidthCalculate copyedit needs across the AP Assessment Production teambased on current and long-term projected schedules; compare copyeditcapacity against projected needs and identify potential gaps incopyedit capacityOversee the timing of new course onboarding, including developmentof course-specific authoring / editorial guidelines in collaborationwith relevant technology teamsManage all aspects of relevant editorial review processes (40%)
Facilitate multiple levels of editorial review for all AP assessmentproducts and resources, including training and management of outsidevendors, where neededLead weekly stand-ups with the AP Editorial team, providingvisibility into and accountability for current work status andupcoming deliverablesFacilitate resolution meetings to streamline feedback integrationand ensure alignment and between editorial and content teamsServe as liaison between editorial and other teams to support theresolution of issues affecting the editorial quality of itemsBudget and t ack all costs in your purview and recommend efficientstaffing and resourcing solutionsProcess Development and Improvement (20%)
