  Job Description:

  This is entry level professional services and scientific work in the field of Engineering performing a variety of moderately complex engineering functions in support of construction and maintenance of public works structures, systems, and facilities and transportation engineering.

  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  Planning, designing, inspecting, and overseeing assigned project activities ,

  Serving as a Resident Engineer and/or Chief Inspector on a simple (Class 1) and/or moderately complex (Class 2) project, or a component of a complex (Class 3) project as defined by the Department of Transportation, and,

  Provide direction to technical and semi-skilled workers and contractors on a project.

  To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

  A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field –OR- non-engineering college graduates and non-degreed candidates must possess a Certification of Engineer-Intern as issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.

  Retirement Plan – The State of Maine contributes 13.41% for MSEA positions and18.21% for Confidentialpositions, of employee’s pay to the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS), on behalf of the employee.

  Gym Membership Reimbursement – Improve overall health with regular exercise and receive up to $40 per month to offset this expense.

  Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts – Set aside money pre-tax to help pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses and/or daycare expenses.
