This position is a leader and change agent who will develop, enhance, support, and implement critically important student support resources. The Assistant Director will also collaborate extensively with students, faculty, staff, leaders, and other stakeholders in carrying out DEI work as it intersects across campus.
The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, establishing student-focused DEI support services, managing the diversity and equity center, developing and maintaining programs and services that directly support student retention and engagement and enhance the student experience and sense of belonging. The Assistant Director will also collaboratively lead, develop, and implement DEI initiatives, resources, training and programming for our campus community through these student lead initiatives.
Who you are: The Assistant Director will have a strong passion for disrupting systemic barriers and supporting diverse individuals, demonstrate a deep understanding of DEI best practices, and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The Assistant Director is a strategic catalyst who enjoys innovating and collaborating with others, and successfully develops partnerships across campus.
The Assistant Director position is 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, but includes nights, weekend, and over-night student travel as the program necessitates. There is a 5% increase in salary for proficiency in English and Spanish. This position is exempt but eligible for overtime under FLSA and reports to the Director for Student Programs and Student Housing.

Develop, implement, and facilitate professional and personal development trainings to support students, faculty, and staff.
Provide support and serve as a visible ally to our campus community
Develop peer mentoring training curriculum in partnership with campus partners
