  About the job:

  This person must be located in either Fremont, CA., San Diego, CA., Portland/Wilsonville, OR., or Austin, TX. We are looking for someone to interface with top-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes for a customer. The right candidate will be responsible for the following:

  Use computer-aided systems to assist and instruct lead customer engineers on large-scale, complex design and tooling tasks involving multiple design environments.

  Cogently communicate software problems to product development.

  Assists other engineers in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale, complex graphical application programs on multiple software products and hardware platforms.

  Provide business and technical feedback to software and hardware vendors.

  Use advanced data exchange methodologies to facilitate effective data sharing between dissimilar systems or applications across engineering disciplines.

  Provide technical guidance to lead customer engineers in the application of complex design techniques and system procedures related to computer-aided engineering software.

  Responsible for in-depth technical papers and presentations to customer management. Technical Lead in guiding junior engineers.

  Work without supervision on highly complex projects with complete latitude for independent judgment.

  Extensive knowledge of the field.

  Job Responsibilities:

  Working closely with Calibre customers to resolve their usage and flow issues and manage their requests for flow development and support.

  Solving challenging layout and circuit verification issues in the most advanced nodes. (N5 and below)

  Supporting tape-out activities and debugging complex flow and tool issues.

  Design, implement & deploy CAD solutions on top of Calibre flows to help customers in their flow development.

  Closely partner with Siemens product and R&D teams to influence product features and roadmaps.

  Interfacing with the sales teams to align on the accounts strategy and provide leads to deploy Calibre flows and solutions.

  Collaborate with Product teams to report issues, understand new features, and help deploy these with Siemens EDA customers.

  Helping customers and product teams with testing features and replicating issues to help improve tools and flows.

  Collaborate with worldwide support organizations to communicate the current activities and align with the global strategy.

  Participate in creating user-related content (packaged test cases, rules, sample flow illustrations)

  Some domestic and international travel may be required but only after the environment returns to safe/normal travel conditions.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Microelectronics, or equivalent.

  Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IC verification in today’s complex nanometer technologies (28nm and below including FinFET technologies).

  Use of Calibre tools is highly preferred, however competitor tools also acceptable (Synopsis, Cadence)

  Strong expertise in Physical Verification, DRC/LVS/PERC, and sign-off experience required.

  You MUST have experience with at least 2 of these 3: DRC/LVS or PERC.

  Strong understanding of physical layout and related verification issues.

  Ability to collaborate with customers for rule writing and development.

  Strong verbal / written communication skills; excellent active listening skills.

  Must be open to up to 25% domestic travel, at the highest.

  Must currently reside in either Fremont, San Diego, Autin, TX or Portland/Wilsonville, OR. You would be required to relocate to one of these locations if you are not currently residing here.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Microelectronics, or equivalent.

  Knowledge of advanced technologies (16nm and below) and their verification flow.

  Knowledge of calibre SVRF/TVF.

  Solid knowledge using Siemens tools: Calibre DRC/LVS, Calibre PERC, Calibre xRC, Calibre xACT-3D or their equivalent.

  Expertise in DFM methodology and related design flows.

  Ability to develop scripts in Tcl/Perl/Python

  Background in Design automation.

  The salary range for this position US-National location is $101,200 to $182,200, and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The compensation is based on the successful candidate’s work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.   If you reside in the San Francisco Bay Area the total cash compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $200,000, and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
