The Boise Airport is growing! To keep pace with the growth of our city and meet the demands of our community, the airport is undergoing a multi-million-dollar capital expansion plan to accommodate future transportation needs . The Boise Airport is accepting applications for the position of Air Service and Marketing Manager. This role will develop the expansion of passenger and air cargo services and oversee marketing, media relations, and advertising for the Boise Airport.
Supervises the planning and marketing programs that strengthen, promote and enhance the airport’s brand
Acts as a spokesperson on behalf of the airport
Displays a strong knowledge of air service strategies, economic development, communication, marketing best practices, project management, writing and client relationships
This role generally works independently and has broad responsibility for planning, organizing and prioritizing work

Essential Functions
Establishes and develops relationships with airline executives to encourage the expansion and retention of current air service. Crafts and delivers precise, impactful, and professional air service presentations. Collaborates with air service experts to identify potential gaps in air service and strategically leverages opportunities for expanding routes. Provides strategic direction on the expansion of air cargo service and communication regarding schedule, fleet and route changes. Researches economic impact of air service in the City of Boise and region. Assists the airport director in the outreach and education of target audiences to influence air service growth. Advocates for the airport with the Federal Aviation Administration. (25%)
Oversees comprehensive communication strategies, both internal and external, and leads public outreach initiatives to effectively inform and engage with target audiences while actively seeking and incorporating feedback. Directs the creative evolution of all communication materials, overseeing the copywriting and editing process for various mediums such as handouts, presentations, video scripts/outlines, press releases, and other written materials. Defines, creates and executes the communication strategy and structure for the Boise Airport’s social media channels and website. Oversees development of a social media content calendar and engages with passengers and partners through various platforms. Oversees responses to passenger inquiries the airport receives via phone and email. Serves as the airport liaison with the city's community engagement team. Acts as the airport's spokesperson as required. (25%)
Oversees overall marketing plan for the Boise Airport. Identifies target audiences and develops with graphic design teams the materials that leverage appropriate marketing tactics. Ensures marketing projects are on time and on budget. Utilizes strong client relations skills to build relationships across the City of Boise and with Boise Airport partners. (20%)
Leads implementation of airport wide employee recognition programs and passenger satisfaction surveys. Oversees event planning and coordination to support airline initiatives, partner initiatives, internal employee recognition, etc. (10%)
Manages the work of professional, technical and/or other staff; determines organizational structure, staffing needs, and work strategies; ensures adequate resources are available for staff to perform work duties; and ensures that assigned operations and activities comply with organization goals and objectives. (10%)
Supervisory responsibilities: Employees in this position are authorized to recommend and/or effect the full range of duties (with appropriate managerial review), including hiring, performance evaluations, transferring, promoting, assigning of significant duties, rewarding, disciplining and terminating employment; exercise independent judgment to direct others work and have the authority to take corrective action; and, utilize people skills to communicate, motivate and direct or oversee a person, group, department, or organization. (10%)

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, marketing, communication, aviation, or related field, and
5 years of experience in aviation air service development, economic development, marketing, public relations, communications and/or business development with an emphasis on the expansion or enhancement of services, or
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Master's degree in business administration, communication, public administration or related field
Experience with marketing and contract management in the aviation industry
Successful completion of the FEMA Public Information Officer Course and crisis communication and media training
Level of Knowledge:
