8 Seasonal Equipment Operators are needed to begin 03/23/2024 and end 12/06/2024. Work hours 7:00am-2:30pm a total of 35 hours per week. Wages $15.14/hr. This job requires a minimum of 3 months of agricultural experience working in a fruit farm or orchard handling both manual and mechanized tasks including operating agricultural equipment associated with production of apples. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing required. Workers with clean driving record and/or insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles. Workers may also be required to work in orchard performing both manual and machine tasks associated with pruning and fruit tree cultivation. Workers are expected to possess or acquire pruning skills in order to be able to identify and remove stubs or broken branches may be required to use chain saws and other mechanized equipment. Workers must be able to perform all activities with accuracy and efficiency. Workers must possess proficiency with both hand tools and mechanical pruning equipment. Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Housing provided only to non-local workers (i.e. permanent residence outside normal commuting distance). Only workers may occupy housing. Employers provide separate sleeping and bathroom facilities for each gender. Employers possess and control premises at all times. Workers must vacate housing promptly at the end of contract period or upon termination, in accordance with state law. Work is located in Berkeley county West Virginia. Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, daily transportation to and from the designated worksite. Eligible workers that decline employer-provided housing are responsible for their own daily transportation to and from designated worksites. Employer provides, at no cost, incidental transportation between worksites. Employer pays/reimburse foreign workers for all visa-related costs (excluding passport fees) in the first work week.
