  Community Financial Credit Union HQ is located in Plymouth, MI. We have 14 branches in the Metro Detroit Area well as Northern Michigan.

  Job description:The Accounting Specialist reviews the previous day's activities for all branches and departments by checking for out-of-balance situations/errors and correcting any discrepancies that are found.Compensation for this position has a starting amount of $20.48 hourly but has the opportunity to increase with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.

  A Day in the life of an Accounting Specialist can look like:Summarize and verify daily Accounting transactions from all branches and departments of the credit union. Resolve branch and back-office discrepancies in daily General Ledgers (GLs).Correct daily out-of-balance situations. Post all daily GL journal entries.Support front-line team members and management with daily queries regarding items such as bonds, transfer clearings, checks, foreign items, and over/short situations.Perform monthly GL reconciliations for assigned accounts according to GL standards.Retain and store Accounting documents.Post the Credit Union payroll biweekly. Maintain payroll deposits and verify payroll accounts are accurately funded.Keep accurate log of card fraud, disputes, charge-backs, and representments.Balance flexible spending and cash advance accounts.Balance and remit federal and state tax withholding.Balance outstanding cashier's checks.Perform bank transfer wire origination and verification though Federal Reserve and the Credit Union's corporate bank accounts.Submit quarterly underground storage reports.Post and reconcile the Credit Union's student loan funding, payments, and monthly balancing.Perform system administration functions for Alloya Corporate Credit Union. This includes adding/removing team members, privilege changes, and token administration.Regularly perform back up function for Accounts Payable and Expense processing, daily bank account reconcilements, card settlement, and daily balancing and transfer of FICS mortgage loans and payments to Symitar.Perform other duties as directed by leadership.

  What you bring to the table:High school diploma or equivalent required.1 year of accounting financial institution experience.Proficiency using Excel.

  You might also have:Accounting or business degree.2+ years of Accounting experience.Advanced proficiency using Excel.
