About WRAP Pre-ETS Advocate

  CORD?s WRAP coordinator will work under the organization?sPre-employment Transition Services for Students (Pre-ETS) contract,working with students with disabilities aged 14-21 who are enrolled inhigh school or post-secondary educational programs, providing them withthe skills they need to seek employment. This includes students who arepotentially eligible for vocational rehabilitation (VR) services buthave not applied for them and students who have been found eligible forVR services. WRAP services are intended to provide soft skills trainingand exposure to the world of work. This position is subject to a CORIcheck. Essential Functions ? Conduct outreach to schools and thecommunity to get a minimum of 25 participants for the program each year;? Maintain relationships with MRC?s VR counselors to obtain appropriatereferrals;? ? Enroll participants in CORD?s Transition to AdulthoodProgram (TAP) or Independent Living (IL) program;? ? Assessparticipants; ? Adapt program curriculum as needed, revising asnecessary to meet individual needs of participants; ? Teach group classsessions and assist with other sessions as appropriate (sessions will bevirtual, in-person or a combination of both); ? Conduct outreach tobusinesses for internship and job shadowing sites; ? Place a minimum of15 participants into internships; and ? Interact with families,guardians, schools and other service providers as appropriate. OtherRequired Job Duties and Functions ? Complete all required reports in atimely manner; ? Provide weekly updates to CORD management staff; ?Participate in fundraising activities for the organization; ? Otherduties as required. WRAP Program Requirements WRAP must offer all five(5) of the contract?s required Pre-ETS services: 1. Work-based learningexperiences 2. Job exploration counseling 3. Workplace readinesstraining 4. Self-advocacy/peer mentoring; and 5. Counseling onpost-secondary education or training programs. 80% of participants mustsuccessfully complete each provided service WRAP Focuses 1. Increasingstudents? awareness of the world of work and employment interests,skills, and needs; 2. Providing exploration and exposure opportunitiesrelated to work experiences; and 3. Preparing students for employmentand post-secondary success. Teaching Activities ? Create lesson plans ?Arrange classroom space; ? Teach group class sessions and assist withother sessions as appropriate (sessions will be virtual, in-person or acombination of both); ? Adapt program curriculum as needed, revising asnecessary to meet individual needs of participants. Work ExperienceActivities ? Secure business locations for a minimum of 15 internshipand/or job shadowing experiences; ? Produce outreach and marketingmaterials related to the internship portion of WRAP for businesses andfamilies; ? Hold informational sessions regarding internshipopportunities; ? Place a minimum of 15 students in internships or jobshadowing experiences; ? Ensure all required paperwork and backgroundchecks are completed; ? Accompany participants to worksites forinternships or job shadowing as appropriate; ? Contact businesses atleast bi-weekly to assess internship performance and troubleshoot ifnecessary; ? Collect weekly timesheets. Outreach and Marketing ? Conductoutreach to schools and the community to get a minimum of 25participants for the program each year; ? Produce marketing materialsfocused on both participants and the business community;? ? Holdinformational public meetings about the program as needed; ? Givepresentations on CORD?s services. Other Activities ? Maintainrelationships with MRC?s VR counselors to obtain appropriate referrals;?? Enroll participants with CORD?s Transition to Adulthood Program (TAP)or Independent Living (IL) program;? ? Assess participants; ? Interactwith families, guard
