Experience in wood truss andor panel design primarily dealing with mid to large sized residentialand / or commercial multi-family projects preferred. Experience withproject management, Mitek program and or PlanSwift would be a plus.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES Based on a 40-hour work week but be open toovertime if current workload requires it. Target working hours 7:30 AMto 3:30 PM, but willing to be flexible if needed. Ability to read andanalyze construction plans / documents. Analyzes technical data andreports to determine if design meets functional and performancespecifications. Understands the building code and applies knowledge ofspecial truss industry issues. Addresses issues appropriately. Thisposition will be working closely with sales staff and customers. Somejobsite visits may be required. Often communicates with buildingdesigners, builders, framers, architects, and structural engineers toobtain or clarify information shown on construction drawings. Strongcritical thinking skills, problem solving, and little direction frommanagement is preferred. Person may be assisting in scheduling truss /panel technician work and monitoring jobs through the department.Prepares complex wood truss / panel design and layout drawings usingproprietary software. These layout drawings may include beams and metalconnectors / hold downs sized and supplied by the company. Teamatmosphere working environment with each member doing their part toprovide the components and materials to complete signed constructionprojects. Reviews and checks layout and design drawings prepared by lessexperienced truss technicians and assists in making modifications priorto releasing drawings to the field or production. Assists in traininginexperienced truss technicians when needed.
