JOB SUMMARY:
The Welder position is responsible for inspecting, repairing and maintaining all heavy mobile equipment (HME) attachments such as buckets and dozer blades. This position is also responsible for line boring machine work, scheduled and unscheduled repairs of mobile equipment and monthly inspection of related attachments (buckets) in both a shop and field environment. This position may perform additional roles including; oxy/acetylene cutting, welding, fabrication, utilizing machining equipment, housekeeping, greasing and general mechanical repairs as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspect, repair and maintain all HME attachments.
Perform scheduled maintenance such as hard facing to prevent premature wear.
Fabricates, modifies, and installs new/used equipment and replacement parts using torch, welders, plasma cutters, hand and power tools, etc.
Ordering wear parts and other related consumables to perform repairs.
Utilize company CMMS program (eMaint) to track and schedule repairs via work orders.
This role may include light repairs/maintenance to mobile equipment.
Operate mobile equipment such as manlifts, telehandlers, and skid steers to complete required projects.
Conducts MSHA pre/post shift safety inspections of work areas and equipment.
Travel to various locations to make repairs on attachments or equipment. Company vehicle provided.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of welding experience, preferred.
Knowledge of mobile equipment repair and maintenance procedures.
Welding and fabrication experience required.
Prior experience with utilizing line boring equipment preferred.
Welding certifications preferred.
Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed.
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must possess the ability to solve mechanical problems quickly and independently.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to – 100 pounds.
