Weekend Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at WVHUGprovide direct and indirect patient care, following standards set by theAmerican Nurses Association; gerontological nursing practice; federal,state and Veterans Administration regulations; and the mission,philosophy, policies and procedures of this agency. Job duties includeproviding care per a written care plan to help meet the needs of WVHUGmembers, including care to help maintain the demented member at thehighest functional level. CNAs work as an integral part of the healthcare team, under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limitedsupervision by a Nursing Supervisor. Weekend CNAs work a set shiftpattern on Sunday, Friday, and Saturday, minimally working 24 to 36hours a week. These positions are scheduled up to 12 hours per shift.Core Shift Available PM 2nd Shift - 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm Job dutiesrequire the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/orwalk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop,make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintainhygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
