　　Job Description:

　　IMTS is seeking a driven Data Engineer, specializing in data modeling, to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. Our team supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO); in this role, you will be pivotal in supporting our federal customer in building an exciting, innovative, and consolidated BI solution by developing and refining various data models. The tool you will be supporting helps to consolidate and simplify complex data streams across the organization and your work will directly empower senior leadership with a comprehensive, real-time understanding of the organization, arming them with the information needed to make strategic decisions. The ideal candidate for this position will have proven expertise in data modeling and database design and will be collaborative, analytical, and detail oriented.

　　Job responsibilities include:

　　• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models leveraging various data sources

　　• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and sources

　　• Support the design and implementation of database structures

　　• Ensure data models are designed optimally and align with best practices

　　• Perform data profiling, analysis, and validation to ensure data quality

　　• Help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork

　　• Being an active and collaborating member of an Agile/Scrum team and following all Agile/Scrum best practices

　　Required Skills:

　　•Must be a US Citizen

　　•Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

　　• 7+ years of experience in data modeling/database design

　　• Knowledge of business intelligence tools and systems

　　• Proficiency developing ETL processes, and performing test and validation steps

　　• Proficiency to manipulate data (Python, R, SQL, SAS)

　　• Strong understanding of the agile principles and ability to apply them

　　• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)

　　• Work comfortably in version control systems (e.g., Git)

　　•Excellent verbal/written communication skills

　　Desired Skills:

　　•Prior professional services or federal consulting experience; experience supporting DHS preferred

　　•Experience working with serverless capabilities in cloud environments (e.g., AWS)

　　•Ability to develop visualizations utilizing Tableau or PowerBI
