Summary About the Position: This position is located at the US ARMY 1ST SPECIAL FORCES COMMAND 3D SPECIAL FORCES GROUP in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Serves as a Victim Advocate (SHARP) for Army Brigades, providing comprehensive assistance and liaison to victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Conducts assessments with clients to evaluate need and risks. Provides advocacy and educational services primarily to Army personnel, family members, DoD civilians OCONUS, and contractor personnel in a deployed environment outside the Brigade. Recognizes the need for professional intervention and refers to appropriate services. Accompanies victims and provides support in securing medical treatment, safe shelter, protective orders, court hearings, educational, transportation, financial services, and follow-up assistance. Provides support before, during, and after trials. Conducts interactive training workshops/seminars to victims, community agencies, and the organization. OR Combination of education and experience - that provided the application with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1). Providing professional advocacy services to victims or survivors of sexual assault and sexual harassment; 2). Experience in conducting assessments with clients to evaluate needs and risks; 3). Experience in recognizing the need for professional intervention and referring to appropriate services and maintaining partnerships in the community; AND 4). Experience in conducting training/seminars on sexual assault/sexual harassment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
