Your Team & Role
As a Vice President, Solution Architecture Engineer in Retirement Strategies you will partner with chief product owners, technical leads, release train engineers, and senior business and technology leadership to improve Retirement Strategies core technologies and business capabilities. As the SAE for Digital Platforms, you will be actively engaging with financial services and FinTech industry peers, platforms, and wealth management tool providers to simplify access to retirement solutions by driving a more modern, cloud-based, API and domain-driven architecture that brings these technology capabilities to solve real-world business problems in a business thats poised for growth based on technology competitiveness. You will also be the key leader who is responsible for mitigating a legacy technology landscape to these new systems. As a technical expert, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership style and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
End-to-end technical leadership for Retirement Strategies Digital Platforms in driving strategic growth, experience, and talent outcomes for Retirement Strategies Technology, concurrently with advancing overall Journey/Platform architecture for agility and sustainability; remove highly complex technical impediments and align the roadmap
Drive solution architecture and design for Retirement Strategies Digital Platform roadmap across multiple Journeys/Platforms to achieve a complete, flexible, and sustainable capabilities in alignment with architectural principles and patterns
Collaborate with chief product owners, release train engineer and enterprise architecture to develop journey/platform vision and roadmap. Define and prioritize enablers that explore alternatives and build the architectural runway that anticipates future needs and enables innovation, flexibility, and speed
Identify, assess, and integrate FinTech capabilities to expand access and differentiate our business in partnership with Strategy, Architecture, and Chief Product Owners
Partner with Growth Initiatives leaders to co-create products and experiences with wealth management firms
Bring an expert understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide technical guidance and leadership to team members and role-model our continuous learning culture by embedding learning and innovation in the day-to-day
Work on critical applications, maintain a broad knowledge of innovative principles and theory
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization
Excellent executive presence with an ability to translate and communicate sophisticated technical solutions in understandable terms to a broad range of audiences
Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
Excellent problem solving and collaboration skills
Significant experience and/or deep expertise with the following:
Domain Driven architectures
API development and management
Cloud engineering and automation
DevSecOps
Applications development
Preferred qualifications:
Experience evaluating, recommending, and integrating third-party solutions
Prior architecture or development experience
UI/ UX knowledge and prototyping skills to drive simplified, integrated experiences
Customer journey and value stream mapping
Financial/Insurance industry experience is a plus, not a must
