Hearst Technology Services is looking for a Vice President of Infrastructure Services to lead the planning, implementation, and operations of our global infrastructure services. These critical services support the business operations of Hearst's 360+ brands. As the VP of Infrastructure Services, you will be setting strategy and overseeing all aspects of networking, system engineering, network security, and data driven performance monitoring. This role requires a strong communicator who demonstrates a customer centric approach. You will use your creativity and proven track record of running modern infrastructure operations to evolve and improve an already highly capable team.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Vice President Infrastructure Services will provide visionary leadership to shape the organization's infrastructure strategy and vision, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals. This role will be responsible for managing all network and infrastructure services to a budget while focusing on security, automation, and cost effectiveness. You will drive the implementation of scalable technology solutions that support business growth and the need for effective security controls.
Evolving the mission critical operations function is a primary responsibility of this role. We seek a candidate who will drive improvements to the overall operational processes, KPI's, monitoring and 24/7 incident response functions.
In this role, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with your peers and customers through listening, collaboration and requirements gathering. Your customers will rely on you for operating resilient core services and delivering applications to a complex and distributed workforce.
You will leverage your deep experience with cloud service providers as you oversee the design and implementation of cloud data networks for platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle.
This role will be responsible for cultivating a positive work environment and all hiring and training plans to maintain a highly effective team. Provide timely constructive feedback, and guidance on all projects and techniques. Management of supporting service providers and vendors to their contractual obligations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish robust operations and monitoring functions that implement processes and KPI's designed to maximize uptime, support problem management, and meet our regulatory requirements. Manage and oversee multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery while meeting project milestones and deadlines. Aligning total cost of ownership with our shared service allocation model. Collaborate with the Hearst Technology leadership team, customers, and peers to provide broad insight into IT capabilities to support enterprise-wide business priorities. Direct and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative culture and continuous improvement mindset. Encourage professional growth and skill development within the team. Build and maintain strong relationships with Hearst's divisional CTOs, key stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects and services. Effectively communicate progress, risks, and achievements to relevant parties. Continuously monitor and understand industry trends, identifying opportunities to implement new technologies and strategies that enhance the company's strategic advantage. Take charge of enhancing Infrastructure Security Platforms, including Zero Trust Network Access solutions, to safeguard the organization from security threats and reduce attack surfaces. Evaluates the effectiveness of change management strategies and recommends changes as necessary. Ensure post implementation assessment of end-user adoption and utilization of the change. Collaborates with project managers and other team members to ensure that change management activities are integrated into project plans and executed effectively. Identify and manage potential risks and issues related to change management activities.EXPERIENCE
A qualified candidate will have demonstrated an ability to excel in complex, multi-tenant enterprise or service provider environments with a heavy reliance on cloud providers and strategies required to meet growing compliance requirements. Must possess a working knowledge of modern infrastructure and networking practices including infrastructure as code, an understanding of DevOps, Agile methodology, and zero trust / SASE models. Minimum 10 of years' experience in similarly sized organizations or service providers. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related field is strongly preferred. In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $250,000-$290,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
