BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you will:

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

Understanding basic pharmacology of commonly-used oral medications, including handling, labelling and dispensing.

Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

Understands and utilizes proper medical record documentation. Notates communications, treatments, and pertinent patient care updates and status according to AVMA guidelines. ​

Maintains a solid grasp of common veterinary medical terms and abbreviations and is able to converse with other veterinary professions in medical terms.
