Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Spine, the Product Value Stream Leader for Complex Spine is expected to lead the Business E2E Supply Chain operational execution to modern, best practice manufacturing and supply chain processes and techniques on a global scale, including the integration of acquired entities. You will be expected to provide a practical and intellectual understanding of the global Medical Device industry and its channels. This leader will have a strong combination of strategic vision and a willingness to be hands-on in all aspects of global manufacturing and supply chain operations as appropriate.
The VS Leader is a highly visible position with responsibility for supporting the development and execution of the End to End (E2E) Value Stream initiatives within the Spine Platform. This is an ambitious role, with a mix of strategic and tactical elements that operates within a multi-functional and global environment. You will serve as the Supply Chain leader of a portfolio of projects and processes across a broad range of product value streams. Primary responsibility is to optimize supply chain process performance based upon end-to-end thinking, making conscious-profitable tradeoffs, and overall product ownership. This person will ensure attainment of Business Objectives and drive Functional Excellence and Accountability. This role will connect Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D partners to develop customer-centric Life Cycle strategies that deliver franchise objectives, including strategic development and implementation of global product phase-in / phase-out strategies. Major Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain strong connection to Customer & Franchise (Globally and Regionally) and drive strategic vision for Business and communication/deployment of Supply Chain Strategies to enable Business Growth
Optimize the end-to end supply chain performance and execute value stream to deliver growth, reliability, and value in partnership with commercial and R&D
Establish processes to link flawlessly to the New Product Development teams to execute global NPI Launches. Drive innovation in support of manufacturability and process development
Align metrics and KPI’s, with focus on Reliability, Innovation, Profitability and Cash Flow metrics. Set Performance Targets for both Internal and (aligned with) External Manufacturing Ops and partner with them to ensure GOC & Enterprise goals are met
Establish processes to manage and balance the Supply Chain Portfolio of projects supporting all areas of performance improvement including, Reliability, Capacity, NPI, Profitability, Compliance and SC Digitalization
Responsible to balance, drive continuous improvement and performance in Cost, Customer Service & Product Quality. Ensure minimal compliance risk
Responsible for creation and execution of the supply chain elements of product lifecycle plan, including long-rang portfolio plan (LRPP), global transition strategy, phase-in / phase-out strategy, and strategic capacities for growth
Responsible for managing capital investments to support Growth and deliver Capital efficiency
Drive continuous cost improvement in Gross Profit and COGS aligned to Business Strategic Plan
Supply risk management and cross-functional issue management ensuring quality, reliability, and customer service is delivered for full portfolio of products
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level within direct reporting line and across functions
Support and provide input for E2E Supply Chain platform strategies, strategic business cycle deliverables and reviews including Business Planning, Strategic Plan/Long Range Financial Plan, Platform Reviews etc.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required with a focus in Engineering or Supply Chain preferred. An advanced degree is preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in total supply chain, commercial, planning, or related functions such as distribution, project management, procurement, or engineering is required
Direct manufacturing experience in a healthcare manufacturing operation highly preferred
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ability to navigate through ambiguity and think strategically, innovatively, and creatively to drive positive outcomes is required
Knowledge of financial processes such as P&L calculation and COGS preferred
Ability to drive operational excellence across organizations, with measurable, financial, quality and cycle time results required
Understanding of the linkages in supply chain from demand planning through delivery to customer required
Ability to build a future vision and gaining support and alignment to that vision required
Developing working strategic plans in alignment with the corporate strategic goals preferred
Experience working in a complex matrix organization and achieving results through collaboration with internal and external partners is required
Strong ability to distill insights from data from multiple sources is required
Exposure to a global environment in previous roles is preferred
Familiarity / experience with master production schedule process, inventory management, supply chain management is strongly preferred
Strong comprehension of the new product introduction process preferred
The position may require up to 25% Domestic and International travel
For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $245,000
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
