Position Specific Duties/Essential Functions:
Responsible for the Day-to-day Operations in the assigned Value Stream:
Identify, investigate, and resolve all operations related issues. Understand and recognize broader impact across the value stream.
Maximize manufacturing efficiency of operations in the Value Stream.
Oversee the daily operations within the Value Stream.
Lead daily management to drive sustainable, continuous improvements in Safety, Quality, On Time Delivery, Productivity, including materials management. Report necessary countermeasures and problem-solving data to site management in the daily management reviews.
Interface with other critical functions including EHS, Facilities & Engineering/Maintenance, Customer Service, Shipping, Information Technology, and Quality Assurance.
Define, create, and implement strategic initiatives, objectives and projects for the Value Stream meeting IDT’s global vision and mission:
Plan and deliver cost, quality, schedule, inventory and EHS activities for the Value Stream
Ensure the shipment goals, business goals, customer requirements and production plans are achieved, and that manufacturing capacity meets the current and future demand.
Responsible for the functional layout, implementation of new equipment, processes, and products, includes capital expenditure spending and future expansion projects within the Value Stream.
Partner with New Process and Product Development to ensure close collaboration on new processes and equipment integration into the value stream that meets current and future demand.
Set Value Stream KPI (key performance indicators) and TTI (targets-to-improve) metrics which are aligned with business objectives and annual site plan.
Responsible for leading teams:
Effectively communicates requirements using a team approach to accomplish goals and objectives of the business.
Ensure your Value Streams leadership team and production associates are organized and trained.
Attracts, engages, and retains diverse talent.
Promote a work environment that provides a positive and rewarding associate experience.
Establish and Communicate Value Stream strategy and goals to associates.
Observe, document and coach associates’ performance through Performance for Growth (P4G) /Development for Growth (D4G), career conversations, and Pipeline Growth Process (PGP)
Strive to improve the associate engagement and culture through execution of the engagement action plan. Responsible for associate engagement within direct reporting team.
Lead, coach and demonstrate behaviors consistent with the IDT and Danaher Core Behaviors.
Enable Danaher Business System (DBS) lean culture:
Effectively drive and mentor DBS and champion an environment of teamwork, problem solving and associate engagement.
Maximize the performance of value streams by implementing and sustaining lean principles to meet customer expectations.
Lead, engage and empower associates throughout the kaizen process to drive and sustain continuous improvements.
Comply with all quality and regulatory requirements:
Ensure that all work instructions, logs, and process flows are kept up to date pertaining to processes, and initiate creation of additional documents when necessary.
Document any process deviations or non-conformances appropriately. Ensure follow-up when failures warrant further investigation.
Contribute to the implementation and improvement of quality (QMS) and environmental management systems (EMS) by being aware of and reporting changes that may affect QMS and EMS related aspects of the relevant department, assist in related actions and management programs as required.
Develop, sustain, and adapt training programs that are implemented through standard work practices that enable value streams to meet their respective business requirements.
Be aware of and contribute to IDT’s policy for quality and environmental management by adhering to the requirements of the ISO 9001, 13485 and 14001 standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science related field or equivalent work experience (required)
Work Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to oligonucleotides.
Min 3 years of experience in a people leader role. Excellent leadership skills (attracting top talent, developing, engaging, and retaining talent)
Knowledge of supply chain, planning, receiving, shipping, and material flow.
Skilled in driving change management and cross functional collaboration.
Basic knowledge of accounting and financial practices in an operations/manufacturing environment
Experience in application of lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual/Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping and Problem Solving.
Experience working in a regulated environment i.e. ISO, FDA, or equivalent.
Other Job Qualifications
Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required, including Microsoft Teams.
Able to read, write and effectively communicate in English required.
Oligo manufacturing knowledge, preferably in synthesis, purification, and formulation.
Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation and teamwork.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management in both written and verbal format.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, situations, or situations in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.
