About UX Designer, Principal

  Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a Principal UX Designer to create intuitive user workflows and experiences that define the visual language of data for our data-driven AI products. In this role, you will be responsible for designing compelling and innovative products used by data scientists, machine learning engineers, business analysts, and executives who are using our technology to employ machine learning and diverse data sources to predict operational decisions. Throughout the process, you will work in close partnership with product managers and engineering teams, playing a vital role in developing and implementing the product design and the holistic customer experience. The ideal candidate will be highly creative and driven by a passion for captivating and amazing users with compelling experiences, interaction, and engagement. You will play a pivotal role in evolving our simulation application, which integrates machine-learning techniques for optimization and advanced analysis. Our product line is centered around leveraging discrete event simulation to unlock the full potential of business processes. We offer powerful simulation tools for modeling, analyzing courses of action, and facilitating planning. This position is fully remote. What you will do Provide leadership for UX across all products to solve various complex challenges in domains such as simulation, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and data science. Own the design process through all phases - from user research and exploratory prototypes to wireframes and polished mockups to final design review, delivery, and usability testing. Partner with an interdisciplinary team of developers, product managers, and data scientists to drive features of innovative Simulation and AI-driven products from concept to implementation. Incorporate user feedback, measure interaction, and leverage user-driven data to improve and enhance our customer experience. Establish standards, style guides, user personas, and design processes for the company. Prepare and present product concepts to internal teams and key stakeholders. Research and analyze how new products align with market needs and user preferences. Expand and improve our existing design system. Mentor other designers as we grow. What you need to have 10+ years of experience as a user experience designer or product designer. Bachelor’s degree in product design, UX, or related field. In lieu of a BS additional relevant experience can be considered. Excellent portfolio of product design projects for review. Experience working on an enterprise IaaS/SaaS/software product. Experience with 3D – Unity, Unreal, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of Figma, design tokens and designing at scale. Experience designing products in the simulation, analytics, machine learning, or data visualization space. Understanding front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS/React/Angular) to help inform design and interaction decisions. Strong visual design experience. What we'd like you to have Prior experience as a Lead or Principal UX Designer. Experience with process/event simulation tools, process mining, supply chain management or similar. Systems thinking approach to problem-solving.
